This column has been very helpful to me in my retirement. A couple suggestions for future topics;

Maybe have a look at Linux. As one who was raised on Windows, I had a long look at switching this summer, finally making the jump to Zorin Linux about a month ago. I now wish I had done it much sooner. Music is a big deal in my life and once I got Pipewire configured correctly, I'm now getting the best audio out of my Lenovo laptop that I've ever heard. I think both Zorin and Mint might be good distros for older folks to try and then avoid some of the Windows Spyware and update issues.

The other topics is the upcoming changes in Medicare coming in 2027. I gather these really kick in after the election (of course) and older folks need a heads up on what is coming. Part D subsidies are gone from what I'm hearing.

Happy Birthday and many more in the future!

I’m glad TheSeniorTechie has been so helpful.

I’ll document both our your suggestions. Linux can be very complicated for any non-techie; I installed a distro once several years ago and I’d prefer not to go thru that experience again. That being said, there may be a way to put it out there that pushes the benefits and minimizes the pain.

It turns out that there are 2 things called Part D subsidies so that’s a good suggestion.
